DON’T FORGET WAGE INCREASES – UNDER SOME AWARDS & REGISTERED AGREEMENTS
A reminder that following the Fair Work Commission’s 2020 Annual Wage Decision, minimum wages in Group 3 Awards are set to increase by 1.75% from the first full pay period starting on or after 1st February 2021.
Increases to Awards have been staggered, payable on 3 different dates.
Group 3 Awards includes Accommodation and Food Services, Aviation, Retail and Tourism.
BE AWARE OF PAY RATE CHANGES UNDER GENERAL RETAIL INDUSTRY AWARD
Casual employees working ordinary hours Monday to Friday after 6pm
Penalty rates will increase from 145% to 150% from 1 March 2021.
INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS BILL, INTRODUCED TO PARLIAMENT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
The IR Bill was introduced to Federal Parliament before Christmas by Christian Porter.
The 5 main areas are:
– The Regulation of Casual Employees and Employment
– Award Flexibility and Simplification
– Enterprise Agreement Making
– Greenfields Enterprise Agreements
– Compliance and Enforcement
The Bill has been referred to a Senate inquiry that is due to report in mid-March.
